Maple Pollard Helper's Club

Did you enjoy your trip to Norton Heath? Then why not send me a short report on your day? Once again everyone went home with at least one rosette - well done girls! I thought how well everyone rode and the ponies looked very smart! A big thank you must go to Jo and Kelly for organising these outings, to Marion and Rod for driving over and letting you take their lovely ponies - yes even Smartie who just couldn't contain her excitement any longer so did spend a bit more time on the lorry than most! Anyway I hope you all had a lovely time and didn't eat too many cheesey chips! Jane

The Maple Pollard Helper's club is available to weekly riders who wish to be more involved with the yard and care of the ponies. We are unable to have young people on the yard without proper training as the yard can be a dangerous place and so the club is in place to give the helpers the skills to be more aware of the possible dangers. Jo Sperrin runs the club and it is her you need to contact if you think this might be something you would like to do. We have two levels one for the more experienced riders and the Sunday club for those who need more help to become confident. Members of the club are expected to come onto the yard and help at some point over the week end and holidays. Helping consists of yard tasks including mucking out, poo picking and tack cleaning as well as getting the ponies ready for lessons and leading.

Maple Pollard Helpers Club runs a Tuesday evening course during term time. The course is from 5.45pm to 7.30pm and includes riding and stable management. Fees are paid half termly, in advance, at a cost of £10 per week. The Helpers Club course is attended in addition to a weekly ride and not instead of. We have a few spaces left so if you are interested please contact Jo on 07875 710010

There is also a training club that runs on a Sunday for children aged 10+ wishing to become a helper in the future. The course is from 12.00noon to 3.15pm during term time and includes helping with yard duties, 45mins ride and 30mins stable management. The course is paid half termly, in advance, at a cost of £10 per week. This course has a few places left and again is only available in addition to a weekly lesson and not instead of.
